If you're anything like me, resolutions might be an overwhelming task to fulfill, especially when you're one busy momma.
But, this New Year I vow to stick to my motherhood and life goals.
5 motherhood resolutions.
1. Incorporate more "me time" away from the kids.
Now to some, this might seem a little bit selfish, but it's very imperative that us mothers get some "me time" whenever we can and however we can.
I will pick a day out the week to focus completely on myself for a few hours to get out and get some fresh air or simply trying something new in the area(coffee shop, book store, museums, connecting with other mamas and doing more volunteer work in the community).
2. Taking the kids on at least 2 trips this year.
As a kid I didn't go on any family trips and I want to make sure that my children are able to see the world at an early age, so traveling won’t be so foreign to them as they become young adults.
3. Putting down the electronics.
Now, I know we live in a generation where social media is consuming most of our lives and checking for updates through the day to see what's happening in the world might be normal, but, it's not.
This year we're going to focus on spending more time together as a family(eating dinner together, watching movies together, going to the movies, taking a walk to the park, doing more arts and crafts and just enjoying each other).
My husband works overnights, so it's rare that he sits down and eats dinner with us due him to having to leave out the house at 7pm.
But, I'm going to make it a goal of mines to have dinner ready once the kids get out of school so we can sit down and talk about our day and eat great food together.
4. Creating homework outside of homework for my children.
I'm not sure if schools are making the students complete all of their work assignments at school, but it's very seldom that either of my kids come home with homework.
I've decided to create a spelling list for my third grader to look over and study the beginning of the week and at the end of the week, we'll take the test.
We also have learning books for their age group that we brought from target that you can pretty much buy anywhere.
I've also incorporated reading daily for 20 minutes after they've taking their baths and it's almost time for bed.
5. Being more patient.
Now, I know I'm not the only mother here who doesn't have a lot of patience.
This is one thing I definitely want to work on and show my kids that I can master the art of being more patient when it comes to them not doing something right away I've asked them to do or not knowing something right away.
What are your motherhood resolutions for this New Year?
